MassEquality PAC Announces First Round of Endorsements in the 2010 Elections

The MassEquality Political Action Committee today announced its first round of endorsements for the 2010 Massachusetts legislative elections.

“Nearly half of the seats in the Massachusetts state legislature are in play and it is critical that we elect pro-equality lawmakers to maintain our 151 super-majority in the state legislature in order to defend against anti-marriage equality ballot initiatives,” said Dee Dee Edmondson, chair of the MassEquality PAC. “We are also only endorsing candidates who have pledged their support for the Transgender Civil Rights Bill, which will extend employment, housing, education, credit, and hate crimes protections to transgender residents of Massachusetts.”

Today's announcement marks the first round of MassEquality PAC endorsements. Additional incumbents, candidates for open seats, and challengers may also receive an endorsement from the MassEquality PAC throughout the summer. MassEquality PAC will also make additional general election endorsements following the September 14 primary elections.
