In response to an editorial in the Boston Herald concerning an anti-bullying bill that passed in the House last week, Anti-Defamation League New England Director Robert Trestan and MassEquality Executive Director Kara Coredini co-authored the below letter-to-the-editor clarifying the benefits of this legislation:

BOSTON - Recently, MassEquality kicked off campaign season with a special party at Hugh O'Neills Restaurant and Pub in Malden. The event was well-attended and several people volunteered to be active in major electoral campaigns this year. Thus far, MassEquality has endorsed Maura Healey for attorney general, Jason Lewis for state senate and Dan Hunt for state representative.
With Marty Walsh stepping down as the state representative for the 13th Suffolk District - which includes the Boston neighborhood of Dorchester and the town of Quincy - members of the LGBTQ community knew that we needed a leader to fill the seat who would not only stand up for LGBTQ issues, but also progressive values that help make Massachusetts a national leader on so many fronts.
